Rinca

Rinca is an island located between the islands of Sumbawa and Komodo. The island is famous not only for monitor lizards, but also for its bamboo forests and mangroves, which you can see during the walking tour. There are two types of trekking routes on the island: three short and one route along the island’s perimeter. It is possible to choose the walk duration: from 30 minutes to two hours. The peaks offer a breathtaking view of the neighboring islands and the bay.

Dragons of Rinca Island

Monitors are the main attraction of the island. These are huge lizards, up to 3 m long and weighing up to 90 kg. You can watch these truly huge creatures in their natural habitat. You can read more about them in our article.

Excursion to Rinca Island is included in the program of many tours in the National Park, but you can rent a yacht specifically for the island trip. An experienced guide will accompany you throughout the trip and help you find monitors on the island.

Rinca Island Day Tours

Rinca Island is located between the islands of Sumbawa and Komodo. The trip to the island takes 30 minutes from the port of Labuan Bajo by a high-speed boat.

The cost of renting a yacht includes services of the crew, equipment for diving and fishing, snacks, drinks and fresh fruit.
